Science
Today was spent at the Science museum. It was so much nicer than I remembered it. There was so much for the kids to do, a lot of hands on activities. We were there for about 4 hours and I do not think we saw it all. We did the explosion show, the scientist does a show where he uses chemistry to show how chemicals react together to cause an explosion. The show is fun and the kids, I think, enjoyed it. Kayla was scared at the beginning, but once she calmed down and actually watched and listened to what was going on she was fine. There was a big tree house the has a Archimedes’ slide, it is about 2 stories tall and shaped like a screw, very tight turns. When I got to the bottom of it I was a little dizzy. Nathan had a good time going down that over and over again. It was a good day out, I think my dad was a little bored by the end of it, but it was nice to have a day out with Gram and Pop.

Ice and Art
Before Danny and Emily left we went downtown to the ice skating rink to skate a while. Paul took Nathan skating while I went with the girls to the art museum, it was free. Nathan did a good job skating, Paul was able to turn him loose and he was skating around on his own. It was fun to see the changes from last year. I think next year we may try to get Kayla out there again. I was sad to skip skating, but next year I will be putting on a pair of skates!!
The art museum was kind of disappointing, there was some good art, but then there was some watercolors on a notebook paper that was terrible!! Kayla could do better than what they had hanging in there. I am amazed at what some people call art!! It was fun to go through the Chihuly glass exhibit, and see that glass art. It was a good day out and fun to spend it with Danny, Emily and their family. We will miss them and the built in babysitters with the kids having other kids to play with.

SNOW!!!
When we woke up yesterday it was raining sleet so we knew it would not be long before the snow would be falling, plus the roads were wet which meant ice!! It started snowing in the morning and it snowed ALL day. I think the news said Oklahoma City had 14 inches of snow with winds up to 60 miles per hour. There were some areas the barely had a dusting of snow and then others with a 4 foot snow drift. The kids had a good time and I enjoyed not being able to go anywhere. The down side to all of the snow was that we were unable to go to church for Christmas mass. There was an inch of ice on the ground under the snow which meant that driving was out of the question. The sun was out today which has helped to melt some of it. The kids are enjoying being able to go out in the snow and play. We are at my parents house now and Nathan is playing games with his cousins John and James. Kayla and Emily are having a good time with Annie and Claire.

Hellen Christmas
Today we had Christmas with the Hellen family, Curt and Amy came up with Avery and Charlie, then Sharla came back in from Tulsa today. It was good to finally meet Charlie (9 months) and see Amy, Avery, and Curt. We have not seen them since last year at Christmas, we live 4 hours away, but see them once a year, pretty sad!! It was a good visit. The kids had a good time playing and Avery and Nathan seemed to have fun playing together, she is full of energy. Presents were opened and they all played with their toys and had a good time doing it!! Merry Christmas Hellen Family!!

Aggghhhh
I have been trying to get a picture of the 4 kids in their Christmas clothes, but they are not cooperating. I should say Maddie is not cooperating. She is dealing with a cold and has been very fussy. This morning I thought there may have been a break in her mood, but when I tried to get her dressed then get a picture, the demons began to show themselves. I know she does not feel well, but all I need her to do is sit and occasionally throw a smile my way!!
