Pinewood Derby and Pottery

Today was along day for Nathan. It started out with a soccer game at 10am. Nathan was able to play the first two quarters since he had to leave the soccer game at half time so he could make it back to Tomball to do the pinewood derby, which he came in second place for the tigers. He was so excited to get atrophy and now keeps his car in a shoebox next to the ribbon and trophy on his desk. After he made it home from the pinewood derby he had about 45 minutes before we had to get ready to go to a birthday party. At the birthday party he made a plate out of clay and painted it. Nathan had to leave the plate their so they could fire it, but he should get the plate in a few weeks. It was a very good day and we had a good time. Nathan went to bed and slept very well.

CRASH!!!

So, last night as I was getting things ready for bedtime while Maddie and Emily were in the tub, splashing and getting water all over!! I heard a crash and the Maddie screaming. I casually walked in to find Maddie with a red spot above her right eye, no blood, but she has a bruise and it s a bit swollen. She cried for a while, well a minute then wanted to know where the "kitty" was?? I am pretty sure she was standing in the tub and pouring water on Emily's head when she lost her footing and fell and banged her eye on the faucet. Life lesson's...

Grandma and Grandpa

This past weekend Paul's parents were here for a visit and we had a great time. We had great weather which means we were outside the entire time!! We played Candyland, baseball, soccer, and kickball, swings were swang in and we lost an hour of sleep, that part was not so good!! We had a good time and look forward to their next visit.
...and in other news Nathan and Kayla had their first Dentist appointment today, which went great. The assistant was wonderful and Kayla LOVED her!! she showed them the proper way to brush and they got to pick out 3 "prizes" from the prize box. There were no cavities and they both were great!!

HELP!!

So, tonight Maddie's normal PJ's were dirty so I had to put her in some pajama's with feet. She was NOT a fan!!
If I pull they WILL come off....

Here mom, you try!!

Fine, I will do it myself!!!
Maybe if I start here with these button things... You are NO help, maybe dad will get this off of me!!!

I did change her and she wore her sweat pants and a long sleeve onesie to bed, She just did not like to have feet, I guess I will need to buy some new PJ's for her.

arts and crafts

Kayla was given a wooden framed mirror, wooden hearts, paintbrushes, paint, stamps and some glue for her birthday from Nanny Yost (my cousin, her godmother). As soon as she opened her present it was time to start painting. She was so excited! We painted and glued hearts and then put it all together, it's amazing how much you can get done when a 5 year old is constantly asking you to do something!!
She has also been spending her days working on her shrinky dinks!! She enjoyed watching them curl up and shrink in the oven and then once cooled off she put the on her bracelet and has enjoyed wearing them. Both were a lot of fun and she had a good time making them.
