Romeo and Juliet

Today Nathan came running up to me and said, "Mom there is a dead bird in the back yard!!" I first thought "those stupid loggerhead shrikes are back". Then he proceeded to tell me it was a big bird in the yard and he thought it was the mockingbird. We went out back and sure enough there was a dead bird on the back porch, just not a mocking bird, a dove. We have three windows that birds occasionally fly into bounce off and fly on, well, this one bounced off, but there was NO flying on!! We left to go to the store and when we came back, Nathan went to check on the bird. Well, there were now 2 dead birds on the back porch. In the 30 minutes we were gone another dove had flown into the window. It is a never ending adventure around here!!
