Last Game
Today was Nathan's last game of soccer for the season. He was the big scorer again with two goals. The game was a tie with a score of 2-2. Nathan has grown as a player this year and is really enjoying the game. He gets right in the middle of things and will stick with the ball all the way to the goal. Last week Nathan scored 3 goals and his team, "the Strikes' won 3-0. I think he would play year round if it was available.

SCORE!!!
Nathan had a GREAT soccer game today. He started out the game with 2 goals and then finished with one more goal. He played 2.5 quarters and was goalie for one of the quarters. Nathan was all over the field chasing the ball and dribbling it form one end to the other. His team, the "strikers" won 3-0. We may to start looking into a league team....

camping with the scouts
This weekend we went camping with the cub scouts, it was a good time. Nathan was kept busy with soccer, ultimate Frisbee football, and a hike. Plus there were a lot of his friends from school there so he enjoyed having friends to play with. Paul, the girls, and I kept busy coloring, we went on a short walk, and socializing. It was a good time, but I think the next time I may just let Paul go with Nathan. There was not a lot for the girls to do and Maddie and Emily were a little under the weather which did not help. Maddie has been fighting a cold, which means that she was FULL of snot. Emily had a slight case of the flu temperatures around 101 and just not too energetic and on Saturday evening Kayla was a little sluggish and had a temperature of 101 as well. The weather for camping was great the temperature in the day was around 74 and at night it dipped down the the 50's, cold enough to cuddle up in the sleeping bag and sleep.

Quarantined
Well, yesterday Nathan was complaining of a headache so I gave him some Motrin and sent him off to school. When I picked him up he was still complaining of his head hurting and not feeling good. While at the gym for Kayla's gymnastics he grew paler was getting the chills and continued to complain of his head hurting and began coughing. Now I knew he was not OK. When we came home from the gym he was NOT feeling good and I took his temperature, which was up to 102.7. Gave him some more Motrin, and left him to rest on the sofa. He woke up while the girls were eating their hot dogs and macaroni and cheese (I am an amazing chef and my children LOVE dinners that are soo fancy, you wish you lived here don't you!!) ...back to Nathan, He woke up and ate a hot dog. then upstairs to watch wheel of fortune, he liked to watch it as a baby and still enjoys watching it, I think it is the bright colors. When it was time for bed I put his cup (for throwing up) in his room and he went to use the bathroom and go to bed, well on the way he threw-up. There was the hot dog he had just eaten, along with the RED Gatorade all over the beige carpet, no there are no pictures, I did think about it however. Thankfully we have a steam cleaner so I was able to get the floor clean and did not have to spend too much time on my hands and knees. He slept the rest of the night and this morning had a temperature of 102.7 so more Motrin. After the doctor appointment at 9:10 this morning we drove all over trying to get his prescription filled. Yes, he has the flu. I am not sure if it is H1N1 or not. The doctor's office does not test for which strain it is, only if it is the flu. So I have given him his first dose of Tamiflu, which about made him vomit. He is dong a lot better today. Seems in good spirits still looks like he does not feel very well, but all in all he has a lot of energy for having the flu. He ate lunch and is watching cartoons. Minus the temperature he acts more like he has a cold. Cross your fingers that he is the only ill one from this!!

Gymnastics, Take 2
Well, last week when Kayla saw the picture of Emily in her leotard and heard that she had fun at gymnastics, she wanted to try it as well. I still think she would enjoy dance more, but since she was willing to try gymnastics, we gave it a try it. She had her first "trial" today. She had a great time. I was happy to see her out there and trying to do all of the moves. They practice landing and putting their arms in the air and when Kayla would jump off the mat and "land" she would always look at her coach to see if she was watching Kayla if she did it right. It was kind of cute. She had a good time and I am glad to have her doing something that she enjoys.

Roller Skating
Nathan and Kayla went to a birthday party today that was at a skating rink. They had a good time and my right arm is soar from being pulled on!! it was fun to get them out there, but I am not sure if they had more fun playing with the air hockey or trying to skate. Nathan was bored, he can only fall on the floor so many times before you are ready to do something else.

Little Gymnast
Today was Emily’s first day at Gymnastics, she was little timid at first, but half way through she had a few small smiles and by the end was enjoying it. She was still reserved, but not afraid to do a few things on her own. They did some summersaults, bouncing on the trampoline and the “bear crawl” on some mats that are about a foot off the ground. I think it is a way to practice their balancing. In the picture there is a picture of one that is “S” shaped. She had a good time and seemed to be excited about it afterwards. Now I need to find a dance studio for Kayla.
